Summary of Professional Experiences:  

Amy has been a general education teacher for the past 13 years; spending three years in Second Grade and ten in Kindergarten. She has experience teaching in a variety of school systems; public, private, and charter; in both rural and urban settings. She moved to Southwest Iowa after graduating college and taught Kindergarten for six years before moving home to Minnesota. She was a part of the school's PBIS lead team and Student Support Team (SST). After moving home, Amy taught in the Hopkins Public School District, developing and implementing social emotional learning skills for students to help aid in their self-regulation and communication skills. She has worked closely with specialists to ensure quality instruction for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD). Amy has worked diligently in becoming a culturally competent educator while utilizing a variety of culturally responsive practices. â€‹

Personal Information:

Amy was born in Saint Paul and raised in Apple Valley, Minnesota with her mom, dad, and two older brothers. She currently lives in Minneapolis with her sweet Aussie Goldendoodle puppy named Woodrow. She enjoys traveling, curling up with a good book while drinking coffee, skiing in the winter, and spending quality time with her friends and family.​
